  25Understanding natural language is one of the grand goals to achieve Art
 ificial General Intelligence (AGI). In the last few years\, also thanks to
  the availability of a large amount of textual data\, we have closed the g
 ap in many with respect to human performance\, in many real-world NLP task
 s. In this course we will review the fundamental ideas behind 'modern' neu
 ral networks based approaches to NLP. We will review results and we will m
 ention the main open problems that are interesting from a research perspec
 tive.This series of seminars is organized by the Data Science Doctoral Pro
 gram.
