 tIn these days\, UAV and robotics research are dominated by data-driven ap
 proaches that mainly focus on scientific problems related to perception an
 d other AI-related issue.The design\, modeling\, and control problems\, wh
 ich have been the backbone of UAV research in the past decades\, seem to d
 ecline in terms of popularity.Perhaps there are no more relevant open cont
 rol problems for UAVs\; or maybe problems that are still open are perceive
 d as solved because of some sort of 'mass hallucination’\;or attention goe
 s to problems neglected in the past because they were too hard to solve\, 
 but now appear within reach thanks to the new AI wave\;or problems that ar
 e still open in control are so difficult that everybody pretend to ignore 
 them\, much alike the 'Fox and the Grapes'.In this talk\, I will give my t
 echnical point of view on whether there are still significant open problem
 s in the design and control of UAV.I will try then to critically rank such
  open problems in terms of difficulty\, providing possible research direct
